This course will briefly review how oxygen is delivered and carbon dioxide is removed by the processes of ventilation, respiration and gas transport.
1. Explain the three processes of getting oxygen to the cells: ventilation, perfusion and gas transport
2. Explain what causes and how to treat the four kinds of hypoxia
3. Describe the advantages and pitfalls of modalities used to monitor gas transport
