Provide relevant care practices while preserving evidence following a sexual assault.
This course will review the various types of sexual assault care providers and the scope of practice of non-SANE-certified registered nurses. It will also describe the role of preserving forensic evidence following a sexual assault and the key components of the forensic evidence collection process. Through review of common injuries sustained by sexual assault victims, the learner will have a better understanding of the complete care considerations for individuals entering the ED following a sexual assault.
