Learn the signs and symptoms of congenital heart disease in pediatric patients.
This course will review the pathophysiology of select pediatric congenital heart defects and the complications that can occur. The emergency nurse will be able to recognize the often subtle signs and symptoms of congenital heart disease and guide a further assessment accordingly. Based on assessment findings, the nurse will initiate critical and appropriate interventions to maintain adequate oxygenation and perfusion to the pediatric patient with congenital heart disease.
