The heat of summer can be brutal but, so can the injuries. Bites, Burns, Bounce Houses and Booze makes the local emergency departments so much more interesting. Let's take a deep dive into the unique summer injuries we can expect to treat this season.

Shari Flores
MSN, MBA, RN, TCRN, CEN, CPEN
Shari is currently a Clinical Education Specialist at Common Spirits St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. She is a doctoral student in Executive Leadership at Post University (Covid delayed graduation). Shari holds an MSN in nursing education from Indiana Wesleyan, an MBA from Florida Institute of Technology and her undergrad is from the University of Minnesota
Shari is a mom of 7 (2 biological and 5 bonus) ages ranging from 32 – 8years. She was a single mom for a decade but, now married for the last year and a half.
Her career has been amazing with some of the highlights being a nurse for Yellowstone National Park, a travel nurse to many states and the US Virgin Islands, and she has completed medical missions helping girls in the sex trade in Cambodia. She also was the National Pediatric Chairwoman for the Emergency Nurses Association. She has settled down now in the suburbs of Phoenix and coaches 11and under little league softball.
