Acute Management of the Burn Patient Webinar
This lecture will review the American Burn Association Advanced Burn Life Support principles of acute burn assessment utilizing a primary and secondary survey and provide valuable concepts for identifying patients that need to transfer to a burn center. Utilizing case studies to integrate learning, topics will include airway management, fluid resuscitation, burn staging, and much more.

Since 2005, Rebecca is the nurse practitioner for Western States Burn Center, a verified burn program at Banner Health North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado. She manages inpatient care for acute burn injured and wound patients, assists in surgical procedures, manages outpatient burn clinic and telehealth appointments. She facilitates burn support group and peer support visitations. She is a national faculty member of the American Burn Association (ABA) Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) program. She coordinates and teaches ABLS certification courses and is an active member of the ABA ABLS National Advisory Committee. She teaches burn care at the local, state, regional and national levels, to medical professionals and non-medical audiences, increasing awareness of burn management and prevention.
